Dan McCarthy
Dan McCarthyChief Executive Officer

Dan McCarthy is Chief Executive Officer of New Century Health, and brings significant leadership experience with innovative health care companies to his role. Dan previously served as Chief Growth Officer where he was responsible for driving short- and long-term growth through business development, marketing, strategy and product innovation. Immediately prior to joining New Century Health, Dan was an early employee of Evolent Health where he held various leadership positions in business development and health care delivery transformation. Dan served as Senior Vice President of Partner Development accountable for growth of the Medicaid segment from its initial launch. In this role, he was responsible for working with health systems and physician groups to start innovative joint venture health plans and accountable care organizations anchored by Evolent’s clinical and administrative capabilities.

Prior to joining Evolent, Dan was an Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Company, where he consulted on strategy, operations and mergers & acquisitions to payers and providers across the firm’s health care practice. Earlier in his career, Dan served as a high school math teacher and worked in financial services. Dan holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School where he was a Goldsmith Fellow and received a B.A. from Georgetown University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude.

Scott Pritchard, Ph.D.
Scott Pritchard, Ph.D.President

Scott Pritchard is President of New Century Health, and brings significant executive leadership experience in health care delivery transformation. Before joining New Century Health, Scott served as Regional President in Evolent Health’s Value Based Services organization with responsibility for several Accountable Care Organizations. In an earlier Evolent role as Vice President of Transformation, Scott supported the development of provider and health plan partner strategies.

Prior to these roles, Scott spent 9 years in the health care practice at McKinsey & Company. As Vice President, Business Development, Scott helped to build Objective Health, a McKinsey start-up company focused on delivering market-leading analytic and advisory services to mid-sized hospitals and health systems. Earlier during his McKinsey tenure as an Engagement Manager, Scott advised health systems, health insurers and pharmacy/medical device companies on strategy, operations and organizational effectiveness. Scott holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from McGill University as well as M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University.

Paige Fretwell
Paige FretwellSenior Vice President, Performance Excellence

Paige Fretwell is Senior Vice President of Performance Excellence and is a New Century Health co-founder. Paige is responsible for program implementation and client partner success. She brings over 25 years of health care operations experience, building effective and scalable health care operations and third-party administration organizations.

Earlier in her career, Paige held executive and management positions at several leading national and regional health care companies, including Global Health Systems, Inc. and Westminster Medical Group. Paige attended California State University at Long Beach.

Giselle Habeych
Giselle HabeychSenior Vice President, National Provider Solutions

Giselle Habeych is Senior Vice President, National Provider Solutions at New Century Health. Her leadership responsibilities focus on developing innovative provider-payer alignment and engagement strategies that enable specialty physicians to delivery evidence-based and affordable care. She brings more than 20 years of health care leadership and management experience in physician network development, provider education, practice management and training. Having joined NCH several years after its founding, Giselle has been an integral part of the executive and senior leadership team.

Prior to NCH, she was the Director of Physician Relations for Provider Network Solutions, a Florida Third Party Administrator. Earlier in her career she held management positions at Tenet Physician Services, Physicians HealthCare Plans, PacifiCare and Memorial Healthcare System.

Andrew Hertler, M.D.
Andrew Hertler, M.D.Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Andrew Hertler is the Chief Medical Officer at New Century Health. As CMO, he is responsible for the advancement of the company’s clinical quality and value-based strategy, utilization management policies and clinical thought leadership initiatives. A practicing board certified oncologist, he is a nationally recognized leader in oncology clinical practice. Dr. Hertler is a member of several American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) committees, including the Clinical Practice, Quality of Care and Payment Reform Committees. In addition, he also serves on ASCO’s Quality Oncology Practice Initiative Certification Program Oversight Council. Immediately prior to joining the company, Dr. Hertler was the Administrative Medical Director for Physician Practices at Maine General Medical Center and the Medical Director of the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care in Augusta, Maine. He is a past President of the Northern New England Clinical Oncology Society. Earlier in his career, Dr. Hertler was Assistant Professor of Medicine in Hematology/Oncology at the Louisiana State University Medical School.

Dr. Hertler received his medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at University of Michigan affiliated hospitals. He later completed a fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology at Duke University Medical Center. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry with highest honors from Dartmouth College.

Geoff McHugh
Geoff McHughChief Growth Officer

Geoff McHugh is Chief Growth Officer of New Century Health. Geoff oversees the firm’s payer partnerships, customer success and Account Management team. Prior to joining New Century Health, Geoff was Vice President of Health Plan Services at Evolent Health.

Before joining Evolent, Geoff was Chief Commercial Officer at Docent Health, a leading provider of health care consumer engagement and patient navigation solutions. Previously, Geoff spent 15 years at the Advisory Board Company, serving as Managing Principal and helping lead the firm’s San Francisco office. Geoff currently serves as Board Chair for Operation Access, a health care non-profit in the Bay Area.

Jordan Silvergleid
Jordan SilvergleidChief Product Officer

Jordan Silvergleid is the Chief Product Officer and is responsible for end-to-end product development and management across the enterprise. He brings significant health care leadership and entrepreneurial experience to this role.

Prior to joining New Century Health, Jordan co-founded Centivo, a start-up health plan administrator for self-funded employers, where he led efforts to identify and engage exceptional providers and partners to deliver value for Centivo clients and members. Prior to Centivo, Jordan served as Executive Entrepreneur at The Advisory Board Company and was responsible for identifying and capturing transformational new business opportunities across the firm. Jordan also led product strategy and management for Crimson (a division of the Advisory Board) and served as an Executive Director in the Corporate Strategy and New Ventures department, where he was responsible for launching numerous new products and services to improve health system and plan sponsor performance.

Before joining the Advisory Board, Jordan was an Associate at McKinsey & Company. He also served as a director at Ashoka where he helped launch a $20M fund to support North American social entrepreneurs. Jordan holds a B.A. with honors from Williams College, an M.A. from The University of Chicago and an M.B.A. with honors from The Wharton School.

Jessica Somers
Jessica SomersChief Financial Officer

Jessica Somers is Chief Financial Officer at New Century Health and is responsible for leading the company’s financial strategy and operations. In addition to her CFO role, Jessica also serves as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development at Evolent Health. In this capacity, Jessica is responsible for the development and execution of Evolent’s strategic growth investments, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic partnerships.

Jessica spent nearly a decade in investment banking and private equity, most recently at Moelis & Company. Jessica earned her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and holds a B.S. in commerce and a B.A. in Asian studies from The University of Virginia.

Monica Soni, M.D.
Monica Soni, M.D.Associate Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Monica Soni is the Associate Chief Medical Officer at New Century Health. In this role, she works cross-functionally in clinical informatics, provider engagement, value-based strategies and innovation. Her focus is to ensure high quality, cost-effective care for patients and an optimal provider experience. She is a board certified, practicing internal medicine physician with over a decade of experience in both inpatient and outpatient safety net care. Immediately prior to joining New Century Health, Dr. Soni served as the Director of Specialty Care for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, the second-largest municipal health system in the United States. She is also an Assistant Clinical Professor within the UCLA Department of Medicine and Charles R. Drew University Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Soni graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Harvard College and received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and was a fellow in the California Health Care Foundation Leadership Program. She is currently a board member for Mercy Housing California, a leading affordable housing organization, and is a Commissioner for the Los Angeles County Hospital and Health Care Delivery Commission.

John Tam, M.D.
John Tam, M.D.Chief Strategy Officer

John Tam is Chief Strategy Officer for New Century Health. John has more than 25 years of experience in health care growth and investment strategy, new product development, and marketing.

Prior to Evolent, John was a Principal with Accretive LLC, a private equity firm, where he led investments in the care management and insurance sectors. John also served as a Vice President and Senior Medical Director for a healthcare marketing agency, a Director in New Product Development at The Advisory Board Company, and a Principal with Computer Sciences Corporation (formerly APM, Inc.) where he led numerous payer and provider strategy, operations, and IT engagements. John earned his M.D. from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and his B.A. from Williams College.

Fernando Villacian, M.D.
Fernando Villacian, M.D.Senior Medical Director, Cardiovascular

Dr. Fernando Villacian is the Senior Medical Director, Cardiovascular at New Century Health. As an interventional cardiologist and managed health care executive, he is responsible for the advancement of technology-based cardiology solutions that enhance quality of care delivery and reduce variation in treatment. Dr. Villacian has four decades of healthcare experience and has been with NCH for 11 years.

Dr. Villacian has been a leader in the cardiovascular quality and utilization management space, helping physicians in managed care organizations, for over 30 years. Prior to joining NCH, he worked directly with managed care organizations like Healthspring (Cigna), CarePlus (Humana) and HealthSun (Anthem). He was a founding executive of SmartEMR, a web-based electronic medical record solutions provider. While there, he created the logic and built the architecture for their first EMR. Dr. Villacian received his MD from the University of Zaragoza in Spain and completed his internal medicine and cardiology training at Yale University and University of Tennessee medical centers.
